Tri-X was introduced in 35mm and 120 format in November 1954. Robert Frank used it for *The Americans* (1958). Vivian Maier — whose work was only discovered after her death — worked almost exclusively in Tri-X. Josef Koudelka used it to photograph Roma communities across Europe in the 1960s. Sebastião Salgado only agreed to switch to digital once he found a workflow that could reproduce its look.
