The Rollei Paul & Reinhold 640 is a panchromatic ISO 640 B&W film from Rollei/Maco (Germany), with slightly extended near-infrared sensitivity. Exposable from ISO 320 to 1600. Moderate, structured grain, natural contrast, a long tonal range. Its slight IR sensitivity gives it a somewhat dramatic look in backlight and skies. A rare film filling the gap between standard ISO 400 and ultra-grainy ISO 3200.

Paul & Reinhold is named after Rollei's founders — Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke — who started the company in Braunschweig, Germany, in 1920. This film was designed for situations where ISO 400 just isn't quite enough, without resorting to the extreme grain of a 3200. At ISO 640, it offers a valuable compromise for stage, concert, and indoor photography.
