A surveillance and scientific recording film repurposed by underground photographers in the 1970s. Its huge, random grain — silver halide crystals visible to the naked eye on the print — made it a radical aesthetic weapon for night street photography, concerts, and underground scenes. It defined the punk and underground aesthetic of night photography.

Kodak Recording Film 2475 wasn't designed for art photography but for industrial and scientific surveillance, notably reading oscilloscope screens in laboratories.
