Kodak Ektachrome E100GX
ISO 100 slide ultra-fine intermediate
expired stock
A professional ISO 100 color slide film from Kodak, the 'GX' variant of the E100G. Ultra-fine grain, high contrast, optimized for an even more saturated look than the standard E100G. Part of the last generation of Ektachrome films before the complete 2012 discontinuation, replacing the older E100S and E100SW references.
Atouts
+ T-grain — very fine RMS 8 grain
+ Neutral balance — natural colors
+ Pure white — low D-min
+ The base for today's E100
Limites
− Discontinued — expired stock only
− E-6 process required
− Restricted latitude
The E100GX was introduced alongside the E100G as an evolution of the professional Ektachrome line, directly replacing the E100S and E100SW references. The exact technical distinction between the G and GX remains poorly documented — the 'X' generally suggested a saturation or color-balance variant suited to specific markets or uses.
