Kentmere Pan 400 is the budget reference in the Ilford/Harman range — the same plant as HP5, a different emulsion but at a noticeably lower price. Although its grain is more marked and contrast stronger than HP5, it's popular among photographers looking for an expressive B&W look at a lower cost.
