A very fine-grain, high-resolution orthochromatic emulsion, originally designed as a copy film for negatives. Insensitive to red — reds and oranges render darker with stronger contrast. ISO 80 in daylight, 40 under tungsten. Developable under red safelight (not amber) illumination. Available in 35mm, 120, and sheet film.

Limites
− Reds and oranges render too dark — not recommended for portraits

Before panchromatic film was invented in the 1920s, all photography was orthochromatic. Ortho Plus keeps this insensitivity to red, which allows work under red darkroom light without fogging the film — a real help for development and inspection.
