The Shanghai GP3 400 is a panchromatic ISO 400 B&W film from Shanghai Film (China). Moderate to pronounced grain, natural contrast with a slight tendency toward higher contrast, the characteristic look of Chinese emulsions. Compatible with standard B&W developers. Available in 35mm and 120.

Shanghai Film is the heir to the Shanghai photographic plant, founded in the 1950s. For decades, the GP3 supplied Chinese amateur photographers who had access only to domestic films. Now exported to Europe and North America, it's sought after for its look, different from Western films — imperfect grain that becomes an aesthetic quality.
