Portra 400 was reformulated in 2010 with a significant improvement in grain fineness and overexposure tolerance — today's version is better than any previous one. It became the 'default' film for a whole generation of 2010s-2020s film-revival photographers. Its popularity is such that Kodak has had to increase production several times to keep up with demand. Exposed at EI 200 or 250, it produces virtually invisible grain.
