Fujifilm Velvia 100

ISO 100 slide ultra-fine intermediate
~26 €
Fujifilm Velvia 100 (RVP100) is an ISO 100 color slide film from Fujifilm, an updated version of the legendary Velvia 50. Ultra-saturated, vivid colors, very high contrast, fine grain. The go-to slide film for nature and landscape photography that wants colors to 'pop'. Requires E-6 processing.
Atouts
+ Ultra-saturated colors — the most vivid of the slide films
+ The absolute reference for nature and landscape photography
+ Available in 35mm, 120 and 4x5
Limites
E-6 process — specialized labs are rare in France
Very high saturation — not suited to portraits (unrealistic skin tones)
High price for film plus development
Unflattering for portraits (red skin)
Velvia is arguably the most influential color film in the history of nature photography. Introduced in 1990, it transformed landscape photography by making colors more intense than reality — Velvia landscapes are more beautiful than the ones we remember. Velvia 100 offers a full extra stop of speed over the original Velvia 50 while keeping the ultra-saturated color signature. Controversial (some find it too artificial) but iconic.
