Adox Silvermax 100
ISO 100 N&B fine intermediate
~12–15 €
The Adox Silvermax 100 is a panchromatic ISO 100 B&W film from Adox (Germany), designed as a film+developer system with the dedicated Silvermax Developer. This combination exploits the emulsion's maximum silver content for an exceptionally long tonal range and remarkable tone separation. Fine grain, high acutance. Compatible with standard developers, but optimal results require the Silvermax Developer.
Atouts
+ Maximum tonal range with the dedicated Silvermax developer
+ Exceptional tone separation
+ Fine grain — high acutance
+ Available in 35mm and 120
Limites
− Optimal results require the dedicated Silvermax Developer (extra cost)
− High price (film + developer)
Adox designed the Silvermax 100 on the model of Kodak's 1990s T-Max film + T-Max Developer system — the idea that a dedicated film and developer mutually unlock each other's capabilities. The Silvermax Developer reveals a tonal range hard to achieve with other film/developer combinations. A film for perfectionists who've mastered their development chemistry.
