Royal Gold 400 boasted an RMS granularity of 4 — extraordinary for an ISO 400 film in 2002. Its spec sheet called it 'the world's finest-grain color film at ISO 400.' Replaced in 2003 by Portra 400, which incorporated even more advanced technology.
