Royal Gold 1000 was the flagship of Kodak's Select Series in the 1990s, alongside Kodachrome and Ektachrome for slides. Its very high speed made it valuable for sports and concert photography before sensitive digital sensors became mainstream. Today, the massive grain of expired examples is highly sought after for its characteristic 1990s grainy aesthetic.
