The finest-grain B&W film Kodak ever produced. ISO 32, orthopanchromatic, with extraordinary resolution, it allowed for large-format enlargements of near-photographic sharpness. Used in microphotography, astronomy, and the most demanding archival work. Often cited as the best B&W film ever made by those who used it.

Panatomic-X was so fine it was used by the CIA and NSA for microphotography and high-altitude aerial surveillance. In U-2 spy planes, a single Panatomic-X frame could read license plates from 20,000 meters up.
