Lomography Potsdam Kino B&W 100
ISO 100 N&B fine all levels
~7,90 €
Based on the German ORWO UN54 cinema emulsion. Fine grain and subtle contrast — the slower, softer little sister of the Berlin Kino 400. A key feature: developable as a classic negative or as a positive (reversal), giving it maximum optical density (Dmax) and superior scan quality. Ideal for studio portraits, landscapes, and architecture in bright light.
Atouts
+ Fine grain and subtle contrast — very poetic
+ Developable as a positive (reversal) for denser blacks
+ Wide dynamic range and high Dmax
+ Available in 35mm and 120
+ Very affordable price (~€7.90)
Limites
− ISO 100 — needs good light
− Streaking possible on some rolls
− No DX coding
− Less versatile than the Berlin Kino 400
The Potsdam Kino is based on the ORWO UN54 emulsion — ORWO (Original Wolfen) is the successor to the Agfa plant in Wolfen, East Germany, nationalized after World War II. This plant produced the cinema stock used in Soviet-bloc films for decades.
