Candido Collective
Candido 800
ISO 800 cinema pronounced all levels
~10–14 €
Kodak Vision3 500T cinema stock reprocessed for C-41. A tungsten film: natural colors under incandescent light, cold cast in daylight. Grain heavier than the Candido 200/400, soft contrast. ISO 800 despite the 500T base. Recent AHU batches: halation may be absent. DX coded. Standard C-41.
Atouts
+ ISO 800 — great for low light, night, indoors
+ Based on Kodak Vision3 500T — cinema quality
+ Soft contrast and natural saturation
+ Standard C-41 — developable anywhere
+ DX coded
Limites
− Cold/blue cast in daylight
− Recent AHU batches: no halation — check before buying
− Heavier grain than Candido 200 and 400
− Not very forgiving of underexposure
Same emulsion as CineStill 800T (Kodak Vision3 500T). Why a 500T film ends up rated at ISO 800 remains a bit of a mystery — remjet removal or C-41 vs ECN-2 process. Founder Harry Bell: 'pay for your plane tickets, not your film'.
